Rocketry: The Nambi Effect - Movie Review

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is a movie on the real life of Nambi Narayan. It is directed, produced and starred by R.Madhavan.

The movie begins when Nambi is called to an interview hosted by Shah Rukh Khan (Hindi)/Surya (Tamil) to tell the people about his life. He begins by saying how he went to Princeton university.

He manages to get his papers signed by Mr. Crocco, by helping him do chores around the house and helping take care of his wife. He is offered a position at NASA, but he rejects it to return to ISRO. His life has many more achievements and hurdles on the way to success.

In his later years he began to get illtreated because of false news that said he sold all of India's rocket building secrets to Pakistan. He is arrested, tortured both mentally and physically. But when Unni comes back into the matter, hope comes back. How will they prove their innocence ? Will the public believe them?

The movie shows us that he is awarded the Padma Bhushan for his services. The movie ends with Shah Rukh Khan (Hindi)/Suriya (Tamil) apologizing to him on behalf of the people of the nation.

The move is good, and all the scenes shown are lifelike. The movie draws the viewer in and makes every scene interesting. The transition between the scenes is very nice. It would have been nicer if they had toned down the dramatic emotions of Nambi’s wife. But the movie is very truthful and a wonderful tribute to Mr. Nambi Narayan.

I really like how in the end they show the real Nambi and offer him the apology on behalf of the nation. Nambi’s family deserved the apology, tribute and respect for all they had faced. This movie is well dramatized and all in all a good movie to watch.
